Welcome again to Theophilus. After St. Luke's initial greeting to 'lovers of God', the Gospel writer details the announcement to Elizabeth that she will bear a son despite her age. This podcast focuses on the role of names in this part of the Gospel of Luke; names continue to ahve significance further on in the Lucan Gospel as they do elsewhere in the Holy Scriptures.

Hello again,

I am back into podcasting again after nearly six months serving in Cali, Colombia.

This is my rendition of a popular and beautiful Mass hymn, The Summons, set to a traditional Celtic melody that I converted from MIDI format (from cdchoir.wordpress.com) and then recorded my own vocals over that. I hope to comment on the hymn as part of an ongoing study of the Gospel of Luke on my new blog, www.catholiccanada.wordpress.com.

Blessings,
Warren

This begins a series of episodes on Ste. Thérèse of Lisieux, "the Greatest Saint of modern times", in the words of St. Pope Pius X.

The first episode focuses on the family of Ste. Thérèse. Her parents Louis and Zélie Martin have been declared Venerable and are on their way, with the aid of our prayers, toward canonization. Some information about the sisters and extended family of the "Little Flower" is also included.

Welcome to my podcast called Theophilus. This is meant to be a religious podcast with a Catholic Christian focus. I am discerning a call to the priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church, and this is my first foray into podcasting. You can also visit my blog at www.canadiancatholicblog.blogster.com.

"Since many have undertaken to set down an orderly account of the events that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed on to us by those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word, I too decided, after investigating everything carefully from the very first, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the truth concerning the things about which you have been instructed." (Luke 1:1-4, NRSV)
